Who we are
AI Visibility Grader (visibility-grader.uncoverseo.com) is operated by Uncover SEO, a UK SEO consultancy (uncoverseo.com). Uncover SEO is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us about anything in this policy through uncoverseo.com.
What we collect
- Scan details you enter: business name, website address, town, service category and your email address.
- Public information about the business: its public Google profile (name, address, phone, website, hours, rating, review count, photos and categories), its website homepage, and public web search results. We store the resulting report.
- Account details: if you create an account, your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
- Anonymous usage data: only if you accept the analytics banner — pages visited and actions such as starting a scan or downloading a PDF. We never send names, emails or website addresses to analytics.
How we use it
- To run your scan, show your report and email it to you.
- To let you share your report through a public link, download it as a PDF, and track your score over time if you have an account.
- To prevent abuse (for example, limits on how often a business can be scanned).
- To understand which features are useful, if you accepted analytics.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Report links are public
Each completed report has a link that anyone who has it can open. It shows the report content only. It does not show your email address or any account information. Don't share the link if you don't want the report seen.
Connecting a Google Business Profile
Our team can, with a business owner's permission, connect a Google Business Profile through Google sign-in. This is currently used internally by Uncover SEO to audit and improve profiles for owners who have agreed. When connected:
- We request the Google permission "Manage your Business Profile" (business.manage).
- We read only the profile that matches the business being audited, to show a health report of its fields.
- We change the profile only for items the owner has ticked and confirmed (currently website link, description and service area). Each change is logged with before and after values.
- Sign-in tokens are stored encrypted and used only for these actions. You can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party access, and you can ask us to delete the stored connection.
AI Visibility Grader's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide and improve these user-facing features, we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the service or to comply with law, we do not use it for advertising, and no person reads it except where needed for security, support or legal reasons.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to run the service. They process data only on our instructions:
- Supabase — database and account sign-in
- Vercel — hosting
- Anthropic — AI analysis of the public information about the business
- Google — Places and Business Profile data, and (with your consent) Google Analytics
- Resend — sending report emails
- Upstash / Redis — short-lived scan progress (deleted within about an hour)
Some of these providers process data outside the UK; they do so under their own data protection safeguards.
How long we keep it
Reports and scan details are kept so you can revisit them and track progress, until you ask us to delete them. Account data is kept while your account exists. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics' retention settings.
Cookies and storage
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Analytics cookies are set only if you click Accept on the banner; your choice is remembered in your browser and you can clear it at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Contact us through uncoverseo.com. If you're unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows when it last changed. Our Terms of Service set out the rules for using the service.
